Mugabe in his message to the Mugabe nation insisted on the "need to intervene to restore a normal country" and asked for "peace, security, order and unity". The leader accompanied by army leaders also spoke about the economy, adding that Zimbabwe "is going through a period of difficulty" but that the country "will not be carried away by bitterness", explaining that "to take into consideration all the complaints of the different society and his own party, which dismissed him ”as leader.

“The complaints are understandable - he added - in this climate the projects for the interest of the nation remain in force. We will open a new culture of work, we will show our sense of work and our commitment to economic growth and we will show the value of our assets ”.

At the end of his speech Mugabe asked for unity: “We must unite in a pact between generations. Let's keep our unity and remember that struggle that founded our nation ”.

After the speech by President Chris Mutsvangwa, head of the war veterans association, he said: "The plans for the impeachment of President Robert Mugabe will go ahead as planned" and announced that next Wednesday the citizens of Harare will take to the streets.
