100 Years in Blue with the Air Force Experience, the Air Force village in Piazza del Popolo with futuristic simulators, F-35s, Eurofighters and much, much more!

Inaugurated in Piazza del Popolo, “Air Force Experience”, the aeronautical village dedicated to the first 100 years of the Armed Forces. From 24 to 29 March, the exhibition will allow citizens to experience the world of aeronautics, in anticipation of the celebration of the 28th birthday on XNUMX March.

The inauguration of “Air Force Experience", the exhibition space that theair Force has set up in Piazza del Popolo, in Rome, on the occasion of its Centenary, which will officially take place on Tuesday 28 March.

A real aviation village, full of history and technology, with aircraft on static display, experiential itineraries, training and entertainment meetings, promotional stands, play simulators, projections, musical and sporting performances that will allow citizens of all ages to get to know the Air Force better and live together the 100th birthday of the Arma Azzurra.

The exhibition will remain open until 29 March, every day from 10:00 to 20:00 and on weekends until 22:00, with free admission and without reservation.

The inauguration ceremony opened with a performance by Military Air Force Band, in the presence of the General of the Air Force Luca Goretti, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Alessandro Honorato, Councilor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome, of the heads of the Armed Forces and of other religious, military and civil authorities.

“The Air Force Experience set up in one of the most evocative places in Rome, Piazza del Popolo, will be a great party for the city that will involve schools with girls and boys.” These are the words ofCouncilor Alessandro Onorato who then went on to say: “Many young people will have the opportunity to see the extraordinary means of the Air Force up close and perhaps deepen their knowledge of this prestigious Armed Forces, some of them perhaps even with the aim of understanding whether to join this prestigious Corps in the future. We wanted to start the national celebrations of the Centenary right from Rome with a big popular celebration and we are sure that it will be a unique event also for the many tourists who visit the capital and will have another nice free event to attend”.

"The village is a way of thanking the city of Rome, giving enthusiasts, tourists and the curious the chance to understand the symbiosis between the institutions and this is the best visiting card that we want to offer also to young people who they will want to join the Air Force”concluded the general Goretti.

Citizens will be able to freely access and see up close the aircraft on which the operational activity of the Armed Forces is based, such as the highly advanced fifth generation fighter F-35, the Eurofighter which watches over the skies of Italy and allied countries, theMB-339A with the livery of Frecce Tricolori, the hunt Tornado andHH-139versatile helicopter used for search and rescue.

Not only that: visitors will be able to immerse themselves in three dome futuristic, an interactive journey that, starting from historical roots that sink into a past populated by pioneers and heroic deeds and touching a mature and rapidly evolving present, then shoots towards a futuristic and yet to be imagined future, made up of artificial intelligence, robotics, multi-domain operations, suborbital flights, space feats, diving in the cyberspace and much more.

Every afternoon it will be possible to attend moments of entertainment and entertainment, with the participation of well-known personalities alternating with testimonial of the Armed Forces, including for example the pilots of the Frecce Tricolori, the Air Force Band, the athletes of the Air Force Sports Centre.

A performance is also scheduled on Saturday 25 March at 16pm live of the Band of the Air Force in Piazza di Spagna. Information stands will also be available to those who want more details on how to join the great Air Force team or simply to learn more about its history and its daily commitment to serving the country. Thanks to three playful simulators – two of the National Acrobatic Patrol and one of Eurofighter fighter – the public will be able to experience the thrill of boarding some of the most iconic aircraft used by the Armed Forces in various operational scenarios, as well as talk to the crews who use them on a daily basis.
