Italy, Alfano: Stop nuclear tests

Italy also joins the list of countries that distancing themselves from Kim Jong-un's attitude, condemning the launch made tonight on Japan. Angelino Alfano, Foreign Minister, inviting the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to immediately abandon the development of its nuclear program, said: "Italy expresses its strongest condemnation for the launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea tonight of a ballistic missile that flew over Japanese territory. The frequency of Pyongyang missile tests and the continuous development of related technologies are a source of great and growing concern, as well as destabilizing the regional balance. These facts constitute yet another clear violation of multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions. The North Korean missile and nuclear program represents a serious threat to the global non-proliferation regime, as well as to international peace and security ”.

Today's condemnation has become more important today. The 29 August of 2010 is, in fact, the "International Day against Nuclear Testing" set up by the United Nations with the aim of promoting the cessation of nuclear tests and "hijacking the devastating effects on people's lives".
