According to local media reports, a gunman exploded several gunshots and took hostages at a veterans' home in California, the Veterans Home of California, in Yountville, Napa Chase Beckman County.

The structure was surrounded by the police who also blocked all accesses. A California Highway Patrol spokesperson is also confirming that shots would be fired. Investigations are currently underway. According to the first testimonies, the man was spotted entering the building with a bulletproof vest and an automatic weapon.

Veterans Home of California is the largest facility in the United States entirely dedicated to the former military with a thousand residents.
