At sea, safe with: "Free Beaches App"

(by Andrea Pinto) In times of a pandemic, effective and simple solutions must be found to ensure the mobility of citizens. With summer just around the corner, the sea is certainly one of those destinations that Italians cannot and want to give up. A place awaited for the whole year to find refreshment and to get away from their cities, to switch off and regenerate. This year the desire to reach our coasts is certainly stronger than ever, due to the very long home quarantine imposed by the national government to contain the spread of Covid-19. A destination, however, which has become almost prohibitive due to the measures and the bizarre ideas proposed, see plexiglass separators between the umbrellas.

Despite the pandemic, Italian ingenuity is always ready to get involved in finding innovative, simple but effective solutions to help institutions and citizens in the most difficult moments. Going to the beach and being sure to find a safe place is now possible thanks to technology and the development of dedicated applications. To get there first was “Free Beaches App“, A simple and very intuitive tool that allows, through the mobile device, to know in advance if there is room on the desired beach, to be able to book and access the beach with a bar code in complete safety. The idea was developed by Andrea Giannini  who has already presented his creation, "Free Beaches App"To all the municipalities of the The Tuscan Regional Authority that insist on the coast. While waiting for it to be immediately made available to Italians and perhaps also adopted by other regions of the country, the video tutorial shows a preview of its undoubted potential.
