Abi – Golden Florin awarded to President Patuelli

This morning, in the Sala degli Elementi of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Mayor Dario Nardella presented the Golden Florin to Antonio Patuelli, President of the Italian Banking Association.

“To Antonio Patuelli, President of Abi – read the reasons for the award – personality of great intellectual caliber, who wrote an important page in his history in Florence, also by virtue of his profound studies on Dante, and thanks to an intense bond of cultural education – the degree in law with Paolo Grossi and the activity of journalist - to personal passions, to the qualified presence in various cultural institutions including the Accademia dei Georgofili, the Gabinetto Vieusseux, the Accademia della Crusca. A recognition of the person, the competence, the style, the high ethical values ​​with which he interpreted the different functions held".

The Golden Florin is the highest honor of the City of Florence, awarded on the proposal of the Mayor, to citizens who for their "notorious work in the fields of culture, the arts, work in all its expressions, politics, assistance , philanthropy, sport and international activities have given particular prestige to the City and the institutions and rendered service to the national and international community and are therefore worthy of being singled out for public praise".
