The activities aimed at preventing the phenomenon of waste fires continue unceasingly through the search and seizure of warehouses used for illegal landfill in the territory, exercised through the joint effort of the NOE of the Carabinieri Group for Environmental Protection in Milan and the various components of the Territorial weapon.
After the recent interventions of the NOE CC of Turin in Roletto (TO), of the NOE CC of Milan in Cornaredo (MI) and Pregnana Milanese (MI) and of the NOE CC of Bologna at a local site, which made it possible to seize a total of over 5000 cubic meters of special waste illegally stored, today, during an inspection of a disused factory carried out by the NOE CC of Milan together with the Carabinieri of the Cinisello Balsamo station, a shed was identified inside which about 60 tons were illegally deposited waste, in particular plastic materials, which could potentially have been set on fire also for the purpose of erasing their traces.
The quantity and type of waste found is such that it is possible to assume not only the construction of an illegal landfill, but also an illegal activity of management, collection and disposal of special waste. For this reason the site managers have been reported in a state of freedom and reported to the Public Prosecutor of Monza for illegal waste management.
The industrial warehouse, completely free of permits for the storage of waste, has been subjected to seizure while the activities to characterize the waste are already underway, in order to be able to proceed with the correct disposal.
