Week of Immunization. AIFA publishes lists of authorized vaccines and marketed in Italy

On the occasion of the Immunization Week, the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) makes available on the institutional portal the list of monocomponent and multicomponent (or partially combined) vaccines authorized and available in Italy for the vaccinations provided for in Law 119/2017 and the list of vaccines authorized and on the market in Italy for vaccinations not included in Law 119/2017. The two lists allow access, via direct link to the AIFA Drugs Database, to the Package Leaflet and the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) of each vaccine.

AIFA also inaugurates a section of the portal ("Vaccines") that provides information on vaccines and the activities carried out by the Agency to ensure quality, safety and efficacy throughout the life cycle, from clinical trials to use in the population .

"I want to underline - affirms the Director General of AIFA, Mario Melazzini, in an editorial published on the AIFA portal - the constant work that AIFA carries out, together with the Ministry of Health and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, to guarantee citizens the availability of effective and safe vaccines. Part of this daily activity of the Agency at the service of citizens' health is and must be correct, transparent and effective information, which is the only tool, for a public institution, able to counteract widespread disinformation and above all the vaccination hesitation. For this reason I invite everyone to consult the professionals of the sector, doctors and researchers. People who have dedicated their professional life to this matter. If you inquire through the web, always check that the information comes from validated and authoritative sources, especially on health issues and visit in particular the sites of public institutions, scientific societies, the most accredited scientific journals ".
