Military Aeronautics: urgent sanitary transport from Sardinia for a child of a few weeks

The flight of a Falcon 50 of the 31 ° Flock of Ciampino of the Military Air Force has just been completed with a baby of a few weeks in imminent danger of life.

The medical transport was requested by the Prefecture of Cagliari to urgently transfer the little patient from the “Monserrato” hospital in Cagliari to the Gaslini hospital in Genoa. The child, as always happens in these cases, was assisted during the flight by a specialized medical team.

The aircraft, which took off on the orders of the Air Force Summit Situation Room, landed at the Genoa airport at 13 pm, where the child and the medical team landed, immediately transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The aircraft then took off again at Ciampino, home of the 31 ° Stormo, where the crew resumed the H24 service.

The flight-ambulance, one of the services in favor of the community that the Air Force ensures through aircraft and crews ready for take-off in a very short time, requires maximum timeliness. The Air Force, through its flight departments, provides vehicles and crews ready to take off 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without interruption and able to operate in any weather condition. There are hundreds of interventions of this type every year by the Air Force aircraft, vehicles that are always ready for take-off and that have the ability to embark specific medical and health teams and equipment, such as thermal cots, or even an ambulance with the patient on board, as in the case of the aircraft of the 46th Pisa Air Brigade.
