The child in imminent danger of life was admitted to the “Bambino Gesù” Hospital in Rome

The emergency medical transport carried out by a Falcon 900 of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force that flew from Olbia airport to Ciampino airport with a 9-year-old child on board in imminent danger of life.

The request for an immediate transfer from the S. Francesco Hospital in Nuoro to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome was made by the Prefecture of Nuoro to the Top Situations Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has its duties are to organize and manage this kind of transport throughout the national territory.

On board the Falcon 900 aircraft, the young patient was boarded on a stretcher at Olbia airport together with his mother and the medical team. Once they landed at Ciampino airport, an ambulance awaited them to complete the transfer to the Roman pediatric hospital.

Through its Flight Departments, the Air Force provides vehicles and crews ready to take off at any time and able to operate in any weather condition to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, as happened today. , but also of organs and medical teams for transplants. Hundreds of flight hours are carried out each year for this type of intervention by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare and the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa.
