Air Force: no direct hit against C-130J taking off from Kabul

The pilot carried out, as required by the operating procedures, an evasive maneuver to protect the aircraft and passengers. No injuries and no damage reported by the aircraft.

In a note, the General Staff specified that with regard to what was reported by the press about the event that involved an Air Force C-130J with a group of evacuated Afghan civilians on board after take off from Kabul airport and some Italian journalistsi, it is specified that no firearm shots have affected the aircraft. The crew chief of the aircraft, as required by operational procedures and subject to constant training, in observing firearms coming from the ground and directed upwards, visible as tracers, immediately implemented an evasive maneuver to protect the aircraft and passengers and prevent the aircraft from crossing the airspace where the tracer hits were observed by continuing with the original route.

No damage to the crew, passengers and aircraft was reported. The C-130 then regularly continued the mission, directed to the Al Salem air base in Kuwait.
