Approval of the hundredth decree on wine CMO

The process for the allocation of grants for the promotion of Italian wineries towards third countries has started

The decree on CMO Wine for third countries has been approved, ie non-repayable contributions equal to 50% for expenses related to the promotion of wine abroad. The decree, which received unanimous approval today by the State-Regions Conference, defines the rules for the implementation of the measure to support the promotion of wine products to third countries.

"The sector must be accompanied to increase the competitiveness of our producers abroad. Promotion in this challenge plays a strategic role - explains the Minister of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies, Sen. Gian Marco Centinaio - This measure will allow us to consolidate the reputation of our companies as ambassadors of the national wine product, the true excellence of Made in Italy, and to regain shares in the markets of non-EU countries. The objective is to favor “system” dynamics that involve the entire national fabric also in the performance of promotional activities".

The actions that can receive support are specified in the decree: actions in the field of public relations, promotion and advertising; participation in events, fairs and exhibitions of international importance; information campaigns; studies to evaluate the results of information and promotion actions. The decree scheme also provides an indication of certain times for the disbursement of contributions, in order to support the planning of important investments by the beneficiary companies with greater efficiency.
