The State Police and the Carabinieri Army of Cuneo, with the support of the Police Headquarters and of the Arma of Modena, in the course of a joint operation that saw about one hundred men employed in the field, arrested 7 men, all nomadic Sinti Piedmontese, prejudiced, considered the authors of a robbery and 22 thefts in habitation consumed in the provinces of Cuneo, Cremona, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza and Mantua, in the period between the months of September 2018 and January 2019.
The criminal level of the 7 subjects arrested was such as to make 4 configure the criminal association for the commission of serious documented offenses.
In particular, the investigative findings conducted by the personnel of the Cuneo Mobile Squad and the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit have allowed us to bring out the total unscrupulousness with which the suspects carried out the thefts and the careful planning action that preceded and followed each of them. It was thus possible to ascertain that the 7 had obtained a secure logistical arrangement in an apartment in the city of Modena, where they took refuge after the commission of predatory crimes in the neighboring provinces. In addition, to ensure the success of the shots, in several of these were presented at the chosen objectives using distinctive signs used by the Police (Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza), such as bibs, hats and identification cards falsified by hand, so as first of all to extract the trust of the victims and finally to ensure an undisturbed escape.
The association also availed itself of the use of advanced technological instruments as well as equipment and materials suitable for cutting safes and large displacement vehicles for frequent transfers between the various provinces.
According to what was ascertained, the arrested, who did not have any kind of lawful employment, with the profit of the raids carried out came to have a monthly income of over 25 thousand euros each in cash and the subsequent stolen goods skillfully stolen. This income was used to fund subsequent blows, spent to maintain a high worldly lifestyle and to buy high fashion clothing and prestigious cars.
The arrests were materially carried out in the municipalities of Magliano Alpi (CN), Trinità (CN), San Giovanni Perucca and Modena, with an impressive but discreet device, which made it possible to complete the arrests quickly and safely.
