ASF Italy, Tuccillo meets with Kenya's Director of Procure in Nairobi

Francescomaria Tuccillo, general secretary of Avocats Sans Frontères Italy (ASF), was officially received in Nairobi by Noordin Haji, who since March 2018 is the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of the Republic of Kenya, a role independent of any other power of the State pursuant to art. 157 of the Kenyan Constitution, with the responsibility to prosecute all the criminal offenses committed in the country. At the meeting, Noordin Haji and Francescomaria Tuccillo discussed how to increase cooperation on the promotion of human rights and the fight against corruption.

Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1992 with the following missions: to promote and defend fundamental human rights, to ensure fair justice for all and to affirm the recognition and respect of the lawyer's role, as well as established in 1990 by the United Nations General Assembly. Present annually in eighteen countries on the five continents, it operates both through operational ground missions and through intense training and dissemination activities. Over the years, the various sections of ASF have distinguished themselves for having conducted a series of interventions, often joint, in many sensitive areas of the world including Kosovo, Cambodia, Chad, China, Ivory Coast, Laos, Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria and Tunisia. Furthermore, each national office operates on its own territory, where the current priority is the protection of the rights of migrants and refugees.
