Today, 13 April 2019, the Italian Military Coast Guard Syndicate (SIM) was established, recognized by decree of the Minister of Defense, born thanks to the process of unionization of the Armed Forces, started for years in Europe.
The "epochal turning point" for women and men in uniform took place on 20 June 2018 with sentence no. 120 of the Constitutional Court, which, by canceling the ban on organizing the Armed Forces, put an end to the long period of unconstitutionality.
The Coast Guard SIM now becomes an active body, composed of soldiers who work, with humility, seriousness, spirit of dialogue and confrontation, for the protection of the fundamental rights of women and men of the Body of every order and degree.
An added value: the newly established OS hopes to act as interlocutor and referent for the institutions, as well as for the General Command of the Port Authority Corps and the Armed Force.
