Banks: online audio guides on basic accounts, credit and investment services

The objective is to promote the financial and social inclusion of citizens in a strongly inclusive perspective, in the ambit of the agreement protocol between the Italian Banking Association

and the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired. A commitment that is also enhanced with the participation of the initiative in the Month of Financial Education

Infographics with immediate, simple and essential information on the opportunities offered by current accounts with basic characteristics for the management of essential banking needs and on the main innovations in the field of investment and credit services, become audio guides also in support of blind and partially sighted people , thanks to their fully usable format. Created by Abi in collaboration with the National Center of the spoken book of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired, these three agile tools have been developed to support citizens in understanding the main features of the Basic Account service, the new regulatory framework given by the implementation of the European MiFID2 directive on investment services, and the new European rules on the classification of debtors in "default" which oblige banks to adopt more stringent criteria and methods.

The initiative is part of the actions envisaged by the memorandum of understanding between Abi - the Italian Banking Association and UICI - Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired Onlus APS, for the implementation of joint activities and experimental projects of information and financial education.

With the publication of these new audio guides, the path promoted together by Abi and UICI, launched since the 2013, is enriched, and that is realized by developing joint initiatives within specific experimental projects that include, among other things, the production of audio books on topics of banking and financial education of interest to people with visual impairments. A commitment, this for the diffusion of basic economic skills, which wants to respond to the citizens' financial culture needs in a strongly inclusive perspective, and which is relaunched also during the Month of Financial Education, which takes place during the month of October.

This initiative is also part of the audio guide series created in collaboration with the UICI and launched in the 2017.
