Just finished the day entirely dedicated to the public at the military airport of Frosinone "Jerome Moscardini”, organized as part of the celebrations of Centenary of the Air Force.
THEHeli Day 2023 it was a unique opportunity to tell and share with thousands of visitors, in an immersive way, the activity of the 72nd Stormo which remained open from 10.00 to 18.00. With a purely inter-agency spirit, the prestigious Flight School of theair Force, in 60 years of life, has trained and certified over 5000 helicopter pilots of all the armed forces and armed bodies of the state, as well as students from foreign armed forces.
Over 7000 visitors were able to appreciate the static display of all the helicopters in service with the Stormo and the Air Force, as well as other rotary wing assets used by the other Armed Forces and State Armed Corps, for which the Flight School trains the relevant pilots helicopter.
The event represented a precious and exclusive moment to touch the helicopters on display and get on board to immortalize, with a souvenir photo, a unique and unrepeatable experience due to the celebrations of the 1st century of the Air Force, the third armed force in the world to have celebrated the prestigious milestone.
The ordinary flight activity of the helicopter TH-500B, performed in three distinct moments during the day, left all the visitors with their noses in the air admiring the training of the instructor pilots who performed maneuvers aimed at enhancing the skills of the crews which are then transferred to the particular training process for student pilots.
Besides the part dedicated to the flight it was possible to visit the flight simulator, an area used with numerous themed photographic panels, historical relics, scenographic reconstructions and equipment supplied by the Armed Forces.
The event was enriched by fundraising for the charity initiative "A gift from Heaven for AIRC", from the participation of theFrosinone aeroclub and from various exhibition stands of local companies. Also present Air Force Associations of the frusinate.
Il 72 ° Stormo of Frosinone, the only school in the rotary wing sector in Italy, is the Department that trains helicopter pilots of the Air Force, of the other Armed Forces and Armed Corps of the State, as well as foreign visitors. The inter-force and interagency synergy, developed in the field of training at the Frosinone Helicopter School, is part of the perspective of continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources.
