Coronavirus: temporary interruption of CRI volunteer nurse support to the Italian Air Force

With regard to what was reported by the La Presse Agency on March 10, 2020 at 20.04 pm regarding communications addressed to voluntary nurses of the Red Cross, the Air Force and the Inspector of the Corps of Volunteer Nurses of the Red Cross jointly specify that the temporary suspension some collaboration activities have become necessary to comply with the regulatory provisions on the containment and management of the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19.

The support of the volunteer nurses at the 31st Wing Medical Emergency Service and at the Air Force's 15th Wing Research and Rescue Centers will resume as soon as the conditions and limitations established by the aforementioned provisions permit.

The collaborative relationship between the Air Force and the Corps of Voluntary Nurses of the Red Cross is and will continue to be of fundamental importance for the purpose of providing essential services for our community such as emergency medical transport and the Search and Rescue Service. , available throughout the national territory.

As regards the emergency COVID-19, the Air Force, in the field of Defense, continues to provide its contribution with aircraft, helicopters and specialized personnel in close coordination with the Civil Protection and with the other departments, through the COI (Operative Summit Joint Command).
