Cosenza: 5 arrests for sexual violence that lasted for ten years
The Cosenza State Police carried out a detention order in custody, issued at the request of the Public Prosecutor of Castrovillari, against 5 subjects held responsible for sexual assault by the group and extortion.
The investigations, conducted by the Commissariat of Corigliano Rossano, by the Cosenza Flying Squad and with the help of crews from the Northern Calabria Crime Prevention Department of Rende, have allowed to shed light on a story of sexual violence and torture, which took place in Corigliano Rossano , against a woman and lasted for many years 10.
The investigative activity was triggered by a complaint recently filed by an Albanian citizen, who narrated in detail about an interminable series of sexual violence, torture and abuses of any kind suffered by the suspects during the last 10 years, explaining as, a common extramarital affair with one of the suspects had quickly turned into an escalation of brutal physical and psychological violence.
The suspects threatened the victim that they would kill the child of just 5 years and his partner, if she refused to provide sexual services.
The woman was therefore subjected to all kinds of sexual violence as well as to extortion of money, forced to undergo sexual intercourse including in the group and in any case violent sexual practices consisting of outright torture, and to hand over to the suspects substantial sums of money under threat to divulge films that portrayed her in explicit sexual attitudes.
Because of the violence she suffered, which caused bruising, bruising and obvious signs on her arms and body, the Albanian citizen had twice, in the 2017, gone to a hospital in Rome, to justify with her family members, in the dark about everything , an unspecified disease that caused these obvious signs on the body.
In response to what was reported by the victim, the police carried out several house searches against the suspects during which 480 grams of marijuana, a precision sling and a greenhouse for indoor cultivation of the same marijuana were found, as well as tools used for perform special sexual services.
Further investigations are underway aimed at identifying other subjects who during this long period of time have become jointly responsible for sexual violence against the Albanian citizen.
