"Diary of a forty year old loser": a story that stops time

(by Emanuela Ricci) Today the speed and the search for synthesis make us people more and more arid, with less emotions. There is no more time to reflect and nourish the soul of "little things", those that really make us happy.

I often decide to switch off. I go in search of texts and writings that can nourish the spirit and all the senses in a choral way. The stories of life and fairy tales are fascinating readings, where they can bring back the intensity of the "deep spirit of the pulsating heart" of the author.

Francescomaria Tuccillo

During the week I discovered a truly "unique" composition that I read, indeed devoured with immense pleasure: the "Diary of a 40-year-old Loser"of Francescomaria Tuccillo, one who, according to him, " sometimes he writes".

As I said, I devoured the work in a few minutes because it was compelling, smooth and full of meaning. The author presumably traces the most important stages of his "intense life", spent in his youth in Naples and after his university studies and short legal activity, abroad in various countries around the world. Finally his second home in Nairobi in Kenya, where, amid a thousand environmental and cultural difficulties, he experienced the happiness of the birth of his son "Ascanio". Back in Italy another great emotion, Giulia.

The author has recounted in just over 40 pages, written with passion and admirable introspection, a "lively" life, marked by the words carved by his father, in the brief but significant exchanges of views.

At one point in the story, he tells two stories, "Il vecchio Saggio" and "Il Bambino con la Sionda". Beautiful stories that tell the difficulties of a young boy who faces the "labyrinth" of the world, contrasting the feelings of happiness and sadness, in an intense and meaningful way.

Read the "Diary of a forty-year-old loser"It is an opportunity not to be missed, absolutely.
