Smarter courts, for justice that is closer to the needs of citizens
In line with the PNRR and with the need to increase the digitization of judicial offices, the Online Court “pilot” project takes shape in four Judicial Offices (Catania, Catanzaro, Marsala and North Naples).
The initiative, launched by the Department for the digital transition of justice, statistical analysis and cohesion policies - Directorate General for Automated Information Systems, is one of the lines of development that emerged within the work of the Interministerial Commission for the South and will allow citizens to electronically file the application and manage the entire procedure independently, through a dedicated platform, connected to the Justice portals and reachable at smart.giustizia.it.
Developed according to user accessibility and centrality criteria, the platform will be usable from any device - computer, tablet, smartphone - with a simple internet connection and characterized by an intuitive graphic interface to facilitate the search for information and the management of procedures.
Starting from the "Support Administration" service within the "Voluntary Jurisdiction", the platform will be gradually expanded to make new features and services available, also to other types of users (eg lawyers).
The platform provides a public information area, accessible to all and containing information on procedural processes, actors involved, times and costs of the services offered, frequently asked questions, instructions on filing with the Courts, possibility to download the forms necessary for the use of the services.
Furthermore, through their SPID credentials, the user will be able to access a Reserved Area, which will be made accessible at a later stage and will include instructions on using the services, a guided procedure for submitting applications online, monitoring of the '' progress of the proceedings and the management of any activities related to the specific procedure (eg statements and reports of the support administrator).
At the end of the trial, the Online Court initiative can be progressively extended to all Italian courts.
