Eni launches Joule, a management school for graduates, managers and young entrepreneurs

The initiative is aimed at training future managers, promoting a culture based on the values of integration and sustainable growth. An acceleration and consolidation program for start-ups is also planned.

Joule is born, the new Eni management school aimed at graduates, managers and young entrepreneurs. A training initiative to share, with the main players of the near future, the objectives that the company has made its own in recent years: cutting emissions to face the challenge of containment well within the 2 ° C of earth temperature increase, l 'access to energy, the contribution to the exploitation of energy resources for the local development of countries through investments, skills and technology, the commitment to finding solutions that guarantee the transition to a low carbon impact energy model.

Joule, which joins the prestigious tradition of managerial training of the Scuola Mattei and its MEDEA Master - the oldest post-university course since 1957 with more than 3000 students trained from 110 nationalities - aims to offer a valid training complement to the initiatives of the main universities and management schools.

The contents of the educational offer - which will make use of a strong Eni internal teaching contribution but also of qualified external partners - will be broad: from the long-term scenarios (decarbonisation and circular economy), to sustainable mobility technologies and efficiency energy, from the themes of globalization, competitiveness and socio-economic gaps, to intercultural communication, inclusive leadership and the digital mindset.

The new Eni School will be divided into two lines that aim to favor the growth of new businesses and new entrepreneurs with a long-term vocation and interested in undertaking a development path based on values:

  • Human Knowledge Program: a training laboratory for graduates, managers and entrepreneurs with the aim of promoting an inclusive global leadership that puts people and the environment at the center.
  • StartUp Initiative: an acceleration and consolidation program for startups, scale-ups and SMEs able to contribute to the energy transition path, with attention paid to Italy.

In particular, as a further enhancement of the StartUp Initiative program, Eni has entrusted its leadership and development to Riccardo Luna, a reference in the field of digital innovation, protagonist of events and initiatives linked to the world of technological start-ups and director of AGI, a press agency to which it has been able to give a strong distinctive imprint centered on digitization, on topical analysis and on the dissemination of complex topics, always explained in a clear and understandable way to the general public.

The School will enter its full activity in conjunction with the start of the 2020-2021 academic year. However, testing initiatives will be organized as early as next autumn to test training and acceleration programs.

Joule will also have one of its offices, dedicated to the training and start-up and closure of programs dedicated to startups, in the renovated headquarters of Villa Montecucco in Castel Gandolfo, the historic site of Eni management training, born in 1973 as an Eni Training and Update Institute (IAFE) within a historic late 800 residence.

Equipped with the latest generation of training and multimedia supports (VR training classrooms, led walls, advanced videoconferencing systems, 4K projection devices) and a guesthouse with all the facilities (rooms, restaurant, auditorium), the Villa will host the main initiatives corporate identity training for Eni people and will also be the new headquarters of the Eni historical archive, whose assets, 5 kilometers of documents, 500 thousand photographic images and 5.000 audiovisuals, has recently been digitized and made accessible on eni.com, with a forecast of approximately 2.8 million documents digitized at 2021 equal to approximately 100 terabytes of memory.

As the unit of measurement of energy from which it takes its name, Joule proposes itself as a common formative denominator of present and future managers and companies.
