Falcon Heavy in space with 24 satellites

Reuters said SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday, carrying 24 experimental satellites in what Elon Musk's rocket company called one of the most hardest I've ever tried.

The boat was launched at 2: 30 (06: 30 GMT) after a three-hour delay compared to launch time. The boosters split safely and the boat started its six-hour mission to deploy the satellites. The mission, dubbed the Space Test Program 2 (STP-2), is the third for the Falcon Heavy rocket, which SpaceX describes as the most powerful launch system in the world.

The mission was commissioned by the US Department of Defense, the main contractor of commercial space companies like SpaceX.

As announced by SpaceX, the company is putting satellites into orbit for agencies such as NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), defense department laboratories, universities and a non-profit organization.

The company also plans to recover the three main boosters of the first phase for reuse in other missions.
