Signed the ordinance on the mobility of school staff

Minister Valditara: "respond to the requests of the teachers and ensured teaching continuity in the interest of the students"

The Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, today signed the ordinance on the mobility of teaching, educational and ATA staff for the 2023-2024 school year. The signing took place after a constructive discussion with the Trade Union Organizations, centered on the application of the regulatory restrictions on mobility, in particular on the category of newly appointed teachers.

“We have worked to reconcile the needs of didactic continuity in the interest of the students with the requests for mobility of the teachers hired in September, making the maximum effort, in the face of precise regulatory stakes and commitments undertaken at European level by the previous government. In this regard, we have launched a strong dialogue with the EU Commission regarding the timing and scope of application of the restrictions on mobility. In any case, with the ordinance we guarantee the regular start of the next school year”, declared Minister Valditara.

The ordinance issued incorporates the requests of the Trade Union Organizations on the timing of its application: in fact, it allows teachers to apply for mobility until the interpretative rules are adopted.

Furthermore, the ordinance implements the request to defer the deadlines for submitting applications: for teaching staff from 6 to 21 March 2023, for educational staff from 9 to 20 March, for ATA staff from 17 March to 3 April. The publication of the transfers will take place on 24 May for teaching staff and on 1 June for ATA staff.
