Thank you China for your help, but don't touch "our family jewels"

(By Massimiliano D'Elia) The contents "screamed" by the leader of the Brothers of Italy Giorgia Meloni on a Fb video that has totaled more than 7 million views have not gone unnoticed by those who have to check on the so-called "family jewels". We are talking about those national assets and assets of a strategic nature that in a moment of emergency (Covid-19), where the stock markets, especially the Italian one, suffer, there is a very high risk that from abroad "someone”May launch mega deals to acquire some of our national backbones at bargain prices. From energy to telecommunications, from defense to aerospace, up to the delicate sector of big data and artificial intelligence.

The alarm had already sounded inside the Copasir - Parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic - but also to the  Consob -Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa - where we talk about "Nationalize against the sale".

From Paris yesterday, however, the real alarm sounded when the Minister of Economy Bruno La Maire  said: "Paris is ready to nationalize if necessary". The Copasir president did not miss the opportunity offered by the French minister Raffaele Volpi"Le Maire's is a real lesson in defense of strategic assets. Before even putting any money, the French state sends a warning to any subjects who might want to take advantage to buy strategic assets at good prices, even going so far as to evoke nationalization as a last resort".

The Northern League head of the highest parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic hopes for a logic of "deterrence", a logic to which the government should also look. Also because the risk of real raids on the stock exchange "screamed" by Meloni to the four winds, is not the result of the nationalist impetus of the leader of the Brothers of Italy, but it could really materialize. The concept seems to have also been whispered to the ears of Copasir members by the men of our intelligence.

In the various souls of the government majority there is a certain nervousness on the subject. At the moment, as reported in the sheet, only the Democratic Party and part of the 5 Star Movement would push for Volpi's wish. On a war footing are, in fact, Henry Borghi, member of dem in Copasir e  Carmelo Micelli, responsible for Security in the national secretariat of the party, who have made a request for clarification by Consob on any speculations following the "incredible" declarations of Christine Lagard.

In this regard, the two dems also affected the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte"We want reassurances that Consob is keeping a watchful eye", Says Borghi alFoglio, with the tone of someone who claims to have it already"said in not suspicious times that the indication of Paolo Savona to the presidency of such a delicate body was not the most appropriate".

Inside Copasir it is not only President Volpi who has sounded the alarm but also the exponent of the M5s in Copasir Zennaro, he claims: "After the announcement of Le Maire, I believe that our CDP must also be strengthened and equipped with both financial and legal tools to make it a subject capable of protecting Italian companies, a bit like a national sovereign fund".

Enrico Borgo of the Democratic Party explains, with regard to strategic assets: "A complex realignment is underway in these sectors which, if entrusted only to market dynamics, would see us unsuccessful. Here no one is regretting the old Iri of state panettone. But I think it is useless to invoke respect for the laws of the market when you are dealing with giants like Huawei and Zte behind which there is no free initiative of an enlightened entrepreneur, but there are the government and the army of China.".

Zennaro of the M5S: "The gestures of solidarity are highly appreciated. (the reference is to China's aid to Italy in the current #coronavirus emergency). But if solidarity becomes the alibi for operations that threaten national security and to extend the aims of our country in a deeper way, the answer must be only one: `No, thanks'. Those who do not respect the rules of the western market cannot be trusted".

To increase the dose the dem Borghi"Covid-19 risks being a tragic mass distraction that could allow certain foreign actors to exercise a new hegemony. But we are not on a reissue of `92, and we will not consent to any asset clearances. On the other hand, I am not aware of any Britannia yachts moored off the port of Naples".
