Sheep milk, MIPAAF: Cipe approves 20 million euro loan for supply chain contracts

Bellanova: “ahead with the commitments made. In a few days a call for 14 million euros for the purchase of DOP pecorino cheese for the poor "

The Cipe today approved the allocation of 20 million euros of the revolving fund for businesses, managed by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, for sheep milk supply chain contracts.

These resources are additional to the € 10 million available to the Mipaaf, following the Agricultural Emergencies Decree, to provide grants and will be used for subsidized loans.

The procedures for submitting applications and projects are already being defined. Supply chain contracts are a tool that stabilizes relations between shepherds, breeders and processors, financing investments, promotion and research.

“A commitment kept - declares Minister Teresa Bellanova - through the work done in these weeks. I thank the Cipe and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti for their attention to the sector. The 20 million euros will be used to launch calls for sheep milk supply chain contracts with which we can concretely help the sector to better plan the future. Agea is ready to open the 14 million euro tender for the purchase of Pecorino dop to be destined for the poor in the next few days. It is an action shared with the supply chain also in the timing, taking into account that this will affect the purchase in an important phase. Our attention to the sector remains very high, even and especially in these complex hours for the country. We are already thinking about the relaunch that there must be and there will be ”.
