Fiamme ORO Sports Group received at the Interior Ministry by the Chief of Police

At the Conference Hall of the Palazzo del Viminale, the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese, the Undersecretary of Sports Valentina Vezzali and the Chief of Police Lamberto Giannini met the athletes of the Olympic gold medaled sports groups in Tokyo.

The Fiamme Oro have long been a forge of talents: hard work and great sacrifices have contributed to the growth of top-level sportsmen. This aspect was reiterated with great satisfaction by the institutional representatives present at the ceremony.

In particular, Minister Lamorgese emphasized the meaning of belonging to the Fiamme Oro, stating that “being a Fiamme Oro means demonstrating to others the principles of the State Police to move forward, to be close to others, to respect the rules; these principles that also help in life ".

To reiterate the primary function of sport as an instrument for the dissemination of values ​​with a high moral content, the Undersecretary for sport Vezzali who - after having recalled as a former member and technician of the Fiamme Oro - as "there is no medal without a teamwork composed by athletes, technicians, managers, clubs, federations, and committees and without a state that invests and finances this world ”, so he underlined how an athlete can transmit through his discipline the values ​​of legality and respect for the rules.

Police Chief Lamberto Giannini also wanted to highlight the great value of sporting successes which are: “a spur, an example for many young people. The Fiamme Oro are present with their gyms, their centers, in difficult and disadvantaged territorial situations and seeing our athletes talking to young people making themselves available to them, makes them champions several times ".

The 21 Olympians and 10 Paralympic athletes of the Golden Flames who, with tenacity and determination have given this summer, with the victories achieved (20 Olympic medals and 25 Paralympic medals) unforgettable emotions to Italy, particularly make the State Police very proud. sports belong and all Italian citizens.
