Saudi Arabia's Minister of Investments Khalid Al-Falih meets Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi

Eni and the Saudi Ministry have also signed a MoU in the field of sustainable development in the country

The Minister of Investments of Saudi Arabia, HE Khalid Al-Falih, met today with Eni's CEO, Claudio Descalzi.

During the meeting, Eni's CEO illustrated the company's decarbonisation strategy, with particular focus on the many industrial initiatives and technologies at the service of the energy transition.

The Saudi Minister shared the country's prospects for 2030 and the Saudi National Investment Strategy.

The parties then shared the role of Saudi Arabia in the context of the current challenges posed by the energy market. On the sidelines of the meeting, Eni and the Saudi Ministry of Investments (MISA) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting cooperation between Eni, Saudi institutions and companies, mainly in the field of sustainable development in the country, and for targeted chemistry towards specialties. 

The areas of cooperation indicated in the memorandum concern the study of the joint development of initiatives in the sectors of sustainable mobility, the circular economy and chemistry.

In the refining and chemical sector, Eni has been present since 1984 through its subsidiary Ecofuel.
