England prepares for a conflict against North Korea

Following the growing tensions between the United States and North Korea, Britain is investigating plans for a possible military conflict against North Korea, the Daily Mail writes.

The sources, who asked for anonymity, told the British newspaper that several options were considered. One of the plans currently under consideration is the deployment of the UK's new aircraft carrier, Queen Elizabeth, in the Far East region, although it has not completed flight tests.

“We have many other ships to dispatch such as the Type 45 destroyers and the Type 23 frigates,” the British official told the newspaper. “The new aircraft carrier could be put into service soon if things go wrong.

Two days ago, US President Donald Trump said "only one thing will work" when dealing with Pyongyang, alluding to a military operation. In response, North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, boasted of the development of a powerful nuclear weapon in his country and said he possessed a "really powerful deterrent" to protect North Korea's sovereignty.
