He took office today at the Italian Medicines Agency, as required by art. 2 of Law 11 January 2018, n. 3, the National Coordination Center of Territorial Ethics Committees for clinical trials on medicinal products for human use and on medical devices, whose composition is governed by the Decree of the Minister of Health of 19 April 2018.
The Center, to guarantee the homogeneity of the procedures and compliance with the deadlines, carries out tasks of coordination, direction and monitoring of the assessment activities of the ethical aspects related to clinical trials on medicinal products for human use entrusted to the territorial ethics committees.
During the settlement meeting they were respectively unanimously elected President Maria Luisa Moro, Director of the Health and Social Agency of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Vice President Carlo Petrini, President of the Ethics Committee and Head of the Institute's Bioethics Unit Superior of Health.
The Coordination Center is made up of fifteen members; the meetings are also attended by the Presidents of the "National Committee for Bioethics", the "National Committee for Biosafety, Biotechnologies and Life Sciences" and the Higher Institute of Health and the Director General of AIFA, who ensures the coordination of the secretarial functions of the Center.
