Italy allocates 2 million to waste collection in Tripoli

The Italian Embassy in Tripoli wrote in a "tweet" that Italy has allocated two million euros to improve the waste disposal system in Tripoli through new equipment and staff training. The Italian Cooperation therefore also aims to contribute to the improvement of living conditions in Tripoli through a more efficient system for the collection and management of municipal solid waste. Among the many problems of the Libyan capital, as is well known, there is also that of the shortcomings in the collection of waste that often remain abandoned along the roads and are burned with negative repercussions for the health of citizens. The loan, according to what has been learned in Tripoli, will be used to purchase collection vehicles and bins. The aspect of the training of ecological operators and managers will be handled together with Unops, the United Nations Office for services and projects. Studies on the feasibility, in the Libyan capital, of a waste disposal plant with international standards are also planned.
