Leonardo: confirmed among the leading companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

Leonardo is confirmed for the twelfth consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) of S&P Global, the stock indices that include the best-in-class companies in terms of sustainability at a global level, positioning itself with the highest score in the Aerospace & Defense based on data from the Corporate Sustainability Assessment, updated as of 12 November 2021.

The analysis conducted by S&P Global takes into account the economic and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) performance of companies, with a view to continuous improvement and on the basis of mainly public information.

“The financial community is increasingly committed to directing investments in a logic of response to the global challenges related to ESG issues. The confirmation of inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices - comments Alessandro Profumo, Leonardo's CEO - is a result of primary importance that highlights the commitment made by Leonardo in all dimensions of sustainability: economic and governance, environmental and social. Knowing how to manage them successfully means increasing our ability to attract investors and seize opportunities, reducing exposure to risks in a phase characterized by profound changes ".

“This important recognition makes us proud - underlines Luciano Carta, President of Leonardo - and testifies to the positioning of the Group on the highest sustainability standards, as well as the growing level of transparency towards stakeholders. A result that is renewed again this year thanks to the commitment of all Leonardo's people, who contribute to making sustainability an essential factor in the company's culture and business ".

Leonardo has included objective and measurable ESG indicators, also in the recent ESG-linked credit line, as part of the remuneration policy and in the first Integrated Report.

The inclusion in the DJSI of S&P Global adds to what the Company has achieved in the last two years: the positioning in band A of the Defense Companies Index on Anti-Corruption and Corporate Transparency (DCI) elaborated by Transparency International, the inclusion in the Gender Bloomberg's Equality Index, the reconfirmation of the role of the United Nations Global Compact LEAD, the inclusion in CDP's Climate A List 2020 (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) for measures against climate change, as well as a better positioning in the main ESG ratings.
