Didactics with viewers, robot footballers, web radio: #LeScuole talks about the 'Galileo Galilei' Institute in Rome
Azzolina: "Congratulations to this school community: you are an example"
The 'Galileo Galilei' State Industrial Technical Institute of Rome is the protagonist of the first in-depth story of #LeScuole, the initiative launched by the Ministry of Education to give space to the stories, the excellences, the projects of educational institutions throughout Italy .
The teaching done with the viewers, the educational robotics laboratory, the soccer robots, the web radio, are some of the peculiarities of Galilei. “Since March 5th, the day we had to close the business, we have been thinking about the future - explains the head teacher, Elisabetta Giustini -. And the boys are doing their best. We prepared for the restart: some of our students participated in the wiring of the four floors of our school in the summer. We reopened our doors on September 4th, welcoming the first classes, and giving everyone a tablet ”.
But what do you do to Galilei? In the Industry 4.0 laboratory, students work on programming and study the components of machines and motors through robotic arms. In the educational robotics laboratory, small soccer robots that play two against two are designed and programmed from scratch. Galilei has also won national and world championships. A wing of the Institute is dedicated to interconnected and immersive teaching: virtual reality modules are developed here, even collaborating with the European Space Agency. On Radio Galileo, the Institute's web radio, podcasts and live broadcasts are broadcast, with readings of audio books, interviews, conversations on cinema, sport, involving parents, teachers, students.

In these particular months, educational institutions have reacted in the face of difficulties, they have taken the opportunity to accelerate innovation, they have shown courage and imagination. And the school community of the 'Galilei' of Rome is an example of this. Every day we receive reports from managers, teachers, staff, parents, of experiences that deserve to be valued. We will do it".
#LeScuole will have a schedule divided into fixed columns and special stories with trailers, testimonials, videos, interviews, links, making of: a 'direct' from the Italian Institutes to give voice to students and female students, to the staff, to those who make every effort day for the formation of the new generations.
