Libya, Arab League: "No foreign interference, we call for UN intervention"

Today the Arab League met in an extraordinary council to discuss the Libya emergency.

At the end, the Arab League condemned the military escalation in Libya and said it would ask the United Nations and other key countries to work to prevent any foreign interference in the affairs of the North African nation.

The league, in an extraordinary session convened by Egypt, expressed its "great concern”For the situation in Libya, which threatens the security of neighboring countries. He also condemned any foreign intervention that facilitates the flow of terrorists.

The statement did not mention Turkey but the reference was to its president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is looking for a mandate from his parliament next January 2 to send troops to Libya in support of the government of Fayez al-Sarraj (GNA) based in Tripoli.

Turkey has already sent hundreds of Syrian mercenaries alongside GNA militias against the Libyan National Army (LNA), and is preparing to send more, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
