“The defense of food sovereignty is the possibility of choosing our production systems and providing the final consumer with quality food. This is the challenge we wanted to take up: to preserve, defend and enhance our unique productions”. Thus the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, speaking via video link at the General Assembly of Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium Members.
During his speech, the Minister highlighted how it is the will of the Meloni Government to position itself in Europe as a nation that defends and protects the Italian production system, businesses and the link between the production model and culture. "My commitment and the will of the Government - reiterated Minister Lollobrigida - is to remain alongside companies in terms of support with respect to production costs and in the fight against some degenerative elements such as synthetic and standardized products".
"The central element of our strength - the minister reiterated - is quality, we are a superpower of quality, everything that cannot be relocated, that is linked to the territory and to our production model, makes our products irreplaceable" .
“For us, the goal is to defend our economy – continued the Minister – our social model. We need to make Europe stronger, but a stronger Europe does not mean weakening one's nation, it means making one's contribution within that container, defending the elements of quality that exist there and contributing to growth, including economic and development of the entire European Union".
