Lollobrigida: sea strategic asset, Coast Guard fundamental interlocutor

“With the Meloni government, we aim to give back to the sea, a fundamental resource for the nation and our civilization, the centrality it lost in the past. Today's meeting with one of the corps of excellence in Italy, the Coast Guard, in the presence of the Commander General Nicola Carlone, means that we want to value every action aimed at safeguarding our excellence", said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida, speaking at the Masaf at the press conference of the "Without Trace" operation, which the Coast Guard has put in place to counter the sale and trade of expired, counterfeit or untraceable fish products during the holiday season.

“For the Meloni government – reiterated Minister Lollobrigida – the sea must become a strategic asset for the entire nation. In the Coast Guard we have a fundamental interlocutor and the operation presented today demonstrates once again the effort made by the women and men of the Corps in identifying fish without traceability and origin, thus safeguarding the citizen's right to purchase a fish product of quality".

"There is maximum effort to protect Mediterranean fish and our fish products from attempts at standardization and sophistication - the Minister highlighted -, and for this we need a strategy at a European level that induces everyone to respect the same rules that imposed on our fishermen. And then there is the work to guarantee the quality of the Italian brand in the food and wine sector: we need to defend the entire supply chain and verify compliance with quality and free competition”, concluded the minister.
