The African Union ousts Niger from the international organization

THEAfrican Union has decided to oust Niger from the international body which includes the 55 countries of the continent following the coup d'état of last July 26th. L'Union also stated that “will evaluate the implications” of possible military action by of Ecowas, the bloc of West African countries, which he called unacceptable. The African Union, on the other hand, is carefully evaluating the three-year transition plan proposed by the coup-producing military junta Niger and insists "on the restoration of constitutional order as quickly as possible".

The Peace and Security Council -CPS- asks the AU Commission in a statement to "undertake a evaluation of the economic, social and security implications” following the probable use of a military contingent from Ecowas. Meanwhile, Algeria has barred its airspace from France in the event of a military intervention against Niger.
