Giorgia Meloni responded to the story of Gen. Bertolini and Military Unions

The site nonsolomarescialli.it, yesterday he published an article with a video depicting the general's intervention Marco Bertolini, candidate of Brothers of Italy in the next European elections, in front of a large audience.

The general with "vigor" criticized the yellow-green government measures, in particular referring to the union organizing:

"Checchi Zalone probable military unionists looking for a permanent job".

Also from yesterday there was bewilderment and disbelief among the various unions that did not digest the "words" of General Marco Bertolini. Words without any sense dictated by purely personal preconceptions, but expressed in public. Offensive words towards those who are working, for the first time in history, on an epochal turning point in favor of staff with stars. A work carried out in full compliance with the rules and above all the law.

So much so that it was considered appropriate to send a letter to the leader of the Brothers of Italy who, received in the editorial office, propose a preview:

Mrs Giorgia Meloni does not allow to poison the wells from which to draw trade union rights for military personnel!

Mrs MELONI, The signatories of this open letter addressed to you learn with bewilderment that one of your candidates for the next European Elections of 26 May 2019 in the central college, defined by you two days ago as a "patriot, a symbol of men in uniform with which to change Everything ", he mocked the trade union rights sanctioned by a sentence of the Constitutional Court, comparing the trade unionists to many" Checco zalone ready to grab a permanent job ". We are talking about the retired General Marco Bertolini who, evidently, in the middle of the election campaign is more concentrated on the votes than on the epochal turning point desired by the sentence 120/2018. OUT OF RESPECT OF THOSE WHO WEAR OUR UNIFORMS we ask you for an authoritative intervention to clarify your thoughts on these disconcerting statements. On this occasion, please concentrate your energies and your posts on social networks to encourage the members of the Defense Commission who wear your jacket to give the Military Unions a dignified law, not like the one that is emerging, also and above all for the poisoning of the wells of those who, including candidate Bertolini, do not understand the importance of giving the military the rights they deserve.

In the evening the Aeronautica Militare SIM sent to the editorial office

the answer of the Hon. Giorgia Meloni

"Brothers of Italy is proud to have nominated - among its ranks - General Bertolini, a man who dedicated his life to the Armed Forces and to the defense of Italy. I am obliged to specify, however, that, at the same time, the party I represent has nothing to reproach itself about the Military Associations for union purposes and the rights of the same members: in this regard, it would be sufficient to dwell on the acts presented in Parliament and the actions in favor of our uniformed men and women promoted by the relative Parliamentary Groups.

We can, in fact, say, proudly and in no uncertain terms, that we are the only ones to have had the courage to open an internal debate on the issue: however, given the importance and delicacy of the topic, being in opposition, we refuse speculations and false promises, avoiding to flaunt solutions when, in reality, there is more than a doubt about the effective applicability of a rule.

Precisely for this reason, also in order to allow a deeper reflection on the provision, in the Defense Commission, we asked that in the Hearings, as well as the representatives of the COCER, also those of the Military associations be heard, and, in Parliamentary works, we promptly offered our contribution, without ever wanting to obstruct the process of the law and, indeed, always with the aim of providing the military with the best possible regulatory discipline. In particular, with our group leaders in the Defense Commission, we toured Italy, visiting hundreds of barracks, just to hear every single voice about it, as well as to directly check the state of well-being of the women and men of our Armed Forces.
It should be emphasized, then, that several of our amendments arise precisely from listening to individual soldiers and representatives of associations: we therefore ask ourselves whether it is legitimate to have doubts about the effective applicability of a rule which, although theoretically perfect, reality may not be the best possible solution.
Despite this, I want to reiterate that Fratelli d'Italia is not only at the forefront to guarantee the well-being of our military but, without a doubt, works to give ever greater strength to our Armed Forces, in particular, avoiding that they are transformed into a duplication of civil protection, with continuous cuts, declarations and decisions more as an antimilitarist than as a representative of the Armed Forces themselves.
No one poisons the wells. It is legitimate to have different ideas, but what matters are the facts, the parliamentary acts and the continuous work in the Defense Commission and in Parliament! "
