At the center of labeling, forestry strategy and energy transition of fisheries

The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida, spoke today in Brussels at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council of the European Union.

Among the topics addressed, the new EU forestry strategy for 2030 and the energy transition of fishing and aquaculture.

On the sidelines of the Council, Minister Lollobrigida met EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski and his counterparts from Spain, Austria, Poland and France.

To Commissioner Wojciechowski, in particular, the minister reiterated the Italian position on the Nutriscore, "a misleading tool compared to the objectives it sets", and the need to "preserve an agricultural model that has consolidated over time".

During his public speech on the strategy for forests, Minister Lollobrigida underlined the need for "strong cooperation between the European Commission and the Member States for the implementation and success of the EU strategy" for forests.

As for the energy transition of the EU fisheries and aquaculture sector, the minister underlined his intention to "accompany the transition, bearing in mind the need to increase resources in favor of a sector that the government considers fundamental, such as that of fishing".
