10 human traffickers arrested by the State Police

The State Police of Milan, coordinated by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office - District Anti-Mafia Directorate, as part of an investigative activity carried out against foreign citizens belonging to two distinct criminal associations aimed at facilitating illegal immigration, carried out two pre-trial detention orders issued against six Cameroonian citizens and four Afghans.

The policemen of the Flying Squad, for years engaged in the analysis of the situation of illegal migratory flows affecting the national territory, thanks to an articulated investigative action corroborated in the field by dynamic surveillance and telephone interception services, as well as by data analysis of telephone traffic referring to the investigated subjects, have documented the associative ties of some individuals present in the Milanese territory, of Cameroonian and Afghan nationality, belonging to cells specialized in the land transfer of migrants coming, in particular, from the central area of ​​Africa or from 'Afghanistan. The investigative activity highlighted how the same, entering and / or leaving the national territory towards Europe, were directed above all to France and other French-speaking countries, bypassing the current rules on the mobility of foreigners.

The survey made it possible to reconstruct in detail as many as 29 trips with the precise identification of the transport procedures and the conduct of the perpetrators of the illicit conduct who dealt with the entire organizational aspect of cross-border travel, from the receipt of requests from various migrants , and other traffickers, when crossing the border.

To increase the criminal "business", the suspects worked in sync to identify the apartments to rent and then host the illegal immigrants waiting for their departure, as well as planned the trips with a continuous and meticulous search for availability on the various shared mobility portals, looking for the most suitable routes to avoid any police checks; finally, they took steps to retrieve valid identity documents for expatriation to be delivered to illegal immigrants, in order to deceive unsuspecting carriers, all in the face of considerable earnings (about 500 euros for each crossing over the border).
