Work has begun for an international forum, scheduled for next September in Florence

As part of the meetings of the Italian Presidency of the G20, the first Agriculture Deputies Meeting, organized by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, was held via video conference on 19 and 20 April.

During the meeting, the reports prepared by the FAO and the OECD on the achievement of the 2030 Agenda objectives and on the Food Coalition introduced by Máximo Torero, Chief Economist of the FAO, and on the resilience in agriculture introduced by Guillaume Gruère Senior Policy Analist of the 'OECD.

The delegations of the G20 countries have expressed their support for the priorities promoted by the Italian Presidency.

Among the international guests, in addition to the members of the G20 and the OOII, on the first day of the meeting, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, special correspondent of the United Nations for the Food System Summit (UNFSS) of 2021, participated in aims.

The President of the Agricultural Experts of the G20, Dr. Graziella Romito, presented the priorities of the Italian Presidency on the sustainability and resilience of agri-food systems and on achieving the goal of zero hunger.

On the second day of the meeting, the G20 Presidency illustrated the concrete actions it intends to promote to concretely contribute to the zero hunger goal and give visibility to good practices in the field of sustainable agriculture.

During the meeting, work began on the drafting of the Press Release of the Agriculture Ministers which will meet from 16 to 18 September 2021 in Florence for the ministerial agriculture.
