Life-threatening infant: Air Force medical transport from Alghero to Genoa

The child was transferred with a Falcon 900 from the 31st Wing of Ciampino

The air rescue machine does not stop and not only for the Covid 19 emergency. In fact, today a medical transport was carried out with the Falcon 900 aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino in favor of a newborn child in need of specific urgent care transported to the Gaslini hospital in Genoa.

The Falcon 11 took off from Ciampino around 00:900 am and landed at Alghero airport around 12:30 pm. Here the newborn boarded the Ligurian hospital.

Landed on Genoa Airport in the early afternoon, the boy was transported by ambulance to the Gaslini hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

The request for intervention was received from the Prefecture of Sassari at the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the Air Force operational room which has among its tasks that of organizing and managing this type of transport throughout the national territory.

Missions of this type require the utmost timeliness. Through its Flight Departments, the Air Force makes available means and crews ready to take off at any time to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, as happened yesterday, but also of organs and medical teams to transplants.
