"Eighth circle" operation: 11 precautionary measures carried out by the State Police

Dozens of operators of the Messina State Police carried out an operation that led to the arrest of 11 people, held for various reasons responsible for criminal offenses in the field of corruption, the disclosure of official secrecy and the fictitious header of goods.

The investigative action began on the New Year's Eve of 2019, when the shutter of a commercial establishment, a tobacconist's located in the Camaro area, was drawn by some gunshots.

This episode, prima facie, seemed to integrate the details of a precise intimidating signal addressed to the owners of the exercise for a possible extortion intent.

The Mobile Squad thus launched a targeted investigative action which, net of the evidence relating to the episode of damage to the Tobacconist's shop, allowed - from the outset - to bring to light the existence of a corruption system that involved subjects operating both in the public sector than in the private one.

Fourteen, in total, the subjects investigated, eleven of whom reached by precautionary measures. The preventive seizure of the complex of goods and economic benefits of a commercial company is also underway.
