The State Police of Pisa has arrested, in execution of a detention order in prison, a foreigner of Bosnian nationality of 47 years, for the crimes of continuous kidnapping, mistreatment, slander and for the new case in point crime introduced by the "red code", constraint and induction to contract marriage with his two daughters ..
The dramatic story, which involved this family nucleus, matured within a nomad camp where the family resides with other compatriots, the scene of the violence and constraints that the poor girls were forced to undergo.
The harassment, in fact, was not limited to mere violent language or mortification: the two girls, one of whom was still a minor at the time, were forced for years to suffer continuous humiliation and physical violence, made of kicks, punches and slaps. On more than one occasion, women have also been segregated inside their caravans and fed only bread and water.
"The punishments", so they were defined by the father the mistreatment inflicted on the daughters, they were not only aimed at resuming small deficiencies in the sphere of family collaboration, but were above all aimed at repressing the freedom of self-determination of the girls. In fact, the mistreatment and the periods of segregation in the caravans in which the girls were forced, were above all aimed at preventing them from attending their boyfriends, two Romanian boys chosen by them, since the father had already imposed on them two other men to marry , belonging to their own family circle: two cousins, with whose parents the father had already reached economic agreements for the "transfer" of the daughters.
And it is at the height of the umpteenth episode of abuse, the most serious one, in which one of the two poor girls was even beaten inside the camp with a pot of terra cotta, then suffering a punitive haircut from part of the father, that the two girls decided to escape from the paternal control.
Taking advantage of a moment of absence of the father from the nomad camp, one morning in early August, the two girls fled through an organized getaway with their "real" boyfriends. They fled far from Pisa, even outside Tuscany, to a place where their father could not have found them.
The father, having become aware of their departure, begins to look for them. Aware of the difficulties in tracing and returning "in possession" of his daughters, he implemented a stratagem that later proved to be the same fatal: he presented a false complaint of kidnapping to the Pisa State Police, declaring that they had been seized near the nomad camp by two unknown citizens of Romanian nationality. Hazardously, he decides to use the Police as a tool to track down his daughters. Indeed, to make the story more credible and, at the same time, put more pressure on the investigators in the carrying out of the research, he falsely declares that even his third youngest daughter, aged just eight, had been taken away by the presumed kidnappers by providing, in the following stages to the denunciation, to hide it inside the nomad camp so as not to reveal the deception, a place where then it will be found hidden, after a few days, following a search by the State Police, conducted inside the father's trailer.
The Pisa Flying Squad starts immediately the investigations that, due to the scarce logic of the presented complaint, immediately turn towards the father, who is immediately registered in the register of the suspects of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Pisa for the crimes of kidnapping and calumny.
Telephone wiretaps are immediately activated and the two fleeing daughters are tracked down in northern Italy and are listened to, together with the engaged couple, by investigators. And it is in that circumstance that the two girls find the courage to denounce the maltreatments that allow the policemen of the Flying Squad to rebuild the undergrowth of violence experienced in the family environment.
In the following days, in the intercepted conversations, the father, who was not aware of the place where the daughters had taken refuge, told them to return home using harsh and intimidating tones, fearing serious consequences for the fate of their little brothers smaller, in the event of their failure to return. One of the two girls, emotionally destabilized by constant calls, yields to paternal blackmail, and leaves her fiancé to return to her father's home. Returning to her parents' house, to prevent further escapes, her father segregates her again in a caravan, and has her kept under surveillance within the camp, while preparations for the wedding are made with great care. Conversations between the fathers of the two betrothed and some relatives-mediators are intercepted, concerning the negotiation of the sum of money to be paid by the father of the groom to the father of the bride. The day of the wedding arrives and the two families gather at the camp, at the caravan of the bride's family. To immortalize them there are video images posted by a family member on his Facebook profile. The investigators of the Squadra Mobile of Pisa, who have been monitoring family profiles for some time, observe the images of the rite recently concluded. In the center of the table, among the food, there is also a silver tray with a whiskey bottle on top with a large golden bracelet wrapped around the neck, a symbol of opulence.
The elders talk to each other: negotiation begins. The mediator, the elder, counts a large bundle of banknotes, delivered to him by the groom's father, and placed it in the center of the table next to the whiskey bottle in front of the fathers of the betrothed. A negotiation phase follows. The father of the bride, after reflecting, takes the sum of money and entrusts it to another member of her family. At this point, the moment arrives when the fulfillment of the ritual is completed.
One of them grabs the bottle of whiskey, uncovers it and pours it into the glass of the other, a handshake between the two heads of the family is a sign that the agreement has ended: the two parents toast and the marriage is considered celebrated . The act is completed, but investigations are continuing. With the elements gathered by the Flying Squad, the Public Prosecutor of Pisa asks for the issuance of custody in prison for the director of this sad affair: the father of the bride. The GIP at the Court of Pisa, deemed to be serious evidence of the crime collected by the investigators, arranges for the custody of the man in prison. The man is found by the policemen inside his trailer in the nomad camp. During the search, a part of the money is also found and seized, considered by investigators the price collected for the sale of the daughter.
