Plenitude brings the Feeling the Energy installation to the Real Jardín Botánico in Madrid

Plenitude, a Benefit Company controlled by Eni that integrates production from renewables, the sale of energy services and a vast network of recharging points for electric vehicles, presents today at the Real Jardín Botánico in Madrid, the Feeling the Energy installation, designed by the studio international design and innovation CRA - Carlo Ratti Associati, with the collaboration of Italo Rota. The initiative received the patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Spain.

Feeling the Energy, after the success achieved at the Brera Botanical Garden as part of the INTERNI Design Re-Generation exhibition and after being the winning project for the Interaction Mention in the context of the FuoriSalone Award 2022, during the last Milan Design Week June, stops in the Spanish capital. The installation offers an experience in which the energy that surrounds us can be perceived through the 5 senses. The exhibition, in fact, naturally winds through the evocative paths already existing of the Real Jardín Botánico and the energy is revealed in various forms: from sound, to light, to wind, everything produces energy from which we benefit every day in our lives.

The concept of the installation is the importance of collaboration between people: it is in fact thanks to the synergy between human beings and nature that we witness the production of a vital energy capable of moving our planet every day.

The Ambassador of Italy to Spain, Riccardo Guariglia, declared: "This is an initiative that recalls the public utility of design and the social importance of energy, on which the Italian Embassy in Madrid is working. For an Italian company like Eni Plenitude, which is increasingly present on the Spanish market in terms of renewable energy, it is the best way to present the new sectors of its interest to the local public ”.

The CEO of Plenitude, Stefano Goberti, commented: “Our presence at the Real Jardín Botánico is a source of great pride for us, an occasion for celebration in the context of the Semana de la Ciencia y la Innovación de Madrid 2022 and a homage to Spain that welcomed us. Feeling the Energy is a multisensory installation that reflects Plenitude's strategic commitment to contribute to the progressive decarbonisation of the electricity sector in Spain, to the energy transition path undertaken by Eni, to Plenitude's ambitious goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and to provide 100% decarbonised energy to all its customers ".

The Plenitude installation will be open to the public from 27 October to 13 November 2022. Thanks to an agreement with the Real Jardín Botánico, visitors will have free access to the Garden for the entire period from 10 to 20 (closing time extended by one now these days) and interact with Feeling the Energy following the path that will lead them to discover how energy is produced by the sun, by the wind or for example, how a sound is born, blowing on the elements of the living orchestra or playing with a xylophone . Furthermore, the energy stored during the day will be able to power the water vaporizers that will nourish the surrounding plants.

The project uses 500 meters of antibacterial copper and human interaction is made possible thanks to the antibacterial properties of copper, supplied for the installation by the international manufacturer KME. With a view to circularity, thanks to the properties of copper, Feeling the Energy thus reflects the commitment of Plenitude, an outpost of Eni's decarbonisation strategy, to be an enabler of the energy transition.

To date, Plenitude supplies energy to around 10 million European customers and aims to reach over 2 GW of installed capacity from renewable sources by the end of 2022, over 6 GW by 2025 and over 15 GW by 2030.

Plenitude is active in Spain in the renewable energy market, in the sale of electricity, gas and services to residential customers and large, small and medium-sized enterprises.
