The initiatives for the celebration of the 167 anniversary of the State Police continue in Piazza Don Bosco in Rome. The performances of the Fiamme Oro athletes, dog lovers and bomb squads will alternate throughout the day.
There are already hundreds of citizens, adults and children, who crowd the square attracted by the stands of the various specialties and by the vehicles of the State Police.
The anniversary of the foundation coincides this year with two other important anniversaries for our institution: the 100th anniversary of the eagle, an emblem which, since 1919, has preserved within itself the history, values, traditions, sacrifice and self-denial of the policemen and 60 years since the birth of the female police force and the entry of women into the police.
During the ceremony that took place on the 10 last April, the flag of the State Police was awarded the gold medal for civil merit with this motivation: "To the women and men of the Digos and the Prevention Police who with exceptional value and sense of duty, pushed even to the extreme consequences, have lavished every energy in the fight against any form of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order, for the strenuous defense of the values and institutions of the Republic ".
