15.737 checks and 8 arrests on Easter weekend following the intensified services of the State Police in the railway field

15.737 checks carried out, 8 arrested and 55 investigated; 1.976 station patrols and 381 on board the train; 834 train trains escorted with an average of 208 trains per day. 118 anti-haul services in civilian clothes to counter theft against travelers. This is the balance sheet of the weekend of checks intensified by the Railway Police for Easter departures.

The arrests mainly involved theft perpetrators and wanted persons because they were subjected to judicial authority measures.

In Pescara, a 35-year-old multi-prejudiced Italian was arrested by Polfer operators while attempting to steal an unlicensed Railway Police car in the parking lot reserved for State Police vehicles.

In Milan, an Algerian citizen was arrested for trying to steal from a backpack worn by a tourist: after placing himself behind the victim on the treadmill that leads from the train station to the metro, the thief came into action, but was promptly blocked by Polfer operators in civilian clothing.

13 foreigners traced in an irregular position; 40 the high penalties in terms of railway safety; 5 unaccompanied minors tracked down by the Specialty staff and returned to families or placed in the community.
