The Traffic Police, on the occasion of the departure for the summer holidays of millions of Italians, recommends all motorists to maintain a prudent and correct driving, reiterating what are the rules of good behavior to be adopted before tackling the journey to the destinations of holiday.
The advices.
- • Carry out a complete check-up of the vehicle with particular attention to the condition of the tires (pressure, wear, fastening); check the operation of lights, brakes, and direction indicators as well as check the oil and water levels of the radiator;
- Load the luggage so that the weight is balanced and leaving the spaces free to allow a good view from the rear-view mirrors;
- Always eat light meals and avoid alcoholic beverages;
- • Do not undertake the journey in conditions of fatigue;
- • Strictly observe the safety distances;
- • To insure all those traveling in a car with safety belts, and if children in the appropriate child seats and / or approved safety seats;
- • Request information on traffic;
- • Use a mobile phone with a headset or bluetooth;
- • Make a stop at least every two hours of driving;
- • Do not leave valuables in plain sight inside the car during stops;
- • Respect the speed limits which must in any case be adequate to the weather, road and traffic conditions;
- • Always wear a well-fastened protective helmet on board motor vehicles and mopeds.
