Rohani congratulated Putin on his victory and expressed confidence in the development of the two countries

The Iranian president, Hassan Rohani, with a message sent to Putin, in the aftermath of the presidential elections that confirmed him, with a preference of almost 77%, at the helm of Russia, congratulated the "crushing victory" achieved.

Rohani, in a letter from his website, said: "The admirable performance of the presidential elections in Russia and the overwhelming victory of His Excellency in the elections were good news."

The Iranian president therefore said he was "confident" that with the confirmation of Putin relations between the two countries "will develop". Iran and Russia have long been strong allies and support the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Rohani then concluded by saying: "I hereby express my satisfaction with the progress of relations between the two countries in recent years and I announce the willingness of the Islamic Republic to promote significant cooperation with the Russian Federation as much as possible in the bilateral, regional and international ".
