Rome, from November 1st stop to the most polluting vehicles

Environmental sustainability and reduction of atmospheric pollution. This is the objective underlying the two ordinances signed by the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, which concern the limitation of the circulation of the most polluting vehicles in the city. From 1 November 2017 to 31 October 2018, the prohibition of access and circulation within the ZTL "Green Belt" of the PGTU will be in force, from Monday to Friday, with the exception of Saturday, Sunday and midweek holidays for categories more polluting: PRE-EURO 1 petrol vehicles; EURO 1 and diesel PRE-EURO 1; EURO 1; EURO 2. The same limitations will also affect two-, three- or four-wheeled EURO 1 mopeds and motorcycles, equipped with 2 and 4-stroke engines which, from Monday to Friday, will no longer be able to enter the ZTL ANELLO RAILWAY. Among the exemptions provided for vehicles with a badge for disabled people; the cars used for the police, safety and emergency service and roadside assistance, as well as the means for emergency assistance for water, electricity and gas. The complete list of exceptions will however be available on the Roma Capitale website. The measures, explains a note, were adopted to safeguard public health and concern older generation petrol and diesel vehicles. The Local Police of Rome Capital will have to supervise in order to ensure compliance with the provision of limitation of circulation by the citizens.
